Titco Tours has more than 15 years experience in common tours and also some unique tour programs. The company organizes but also improvises with the consent of the travellers. In all their hiking and walking programmes, the tour operators try to implement three things. First, they focus on "Leaving No Traces" along their paths, which is easy to realise with motivated groups.
Second, they know that the wild boar is a threat to the mainly organic crops in the gardens of the villagers. Since almost all agriculture in Turkey is heavily dependent on the over use of insecticides, pesticides and chemical fertilisers, they think these gardens should be protected as much as possible. They hope that the regular presence of walking groups will chase wild boar back to their natural habitat at higher altitudes in the nearby mountains. A side effect may be that boars need not be shot down, as is the current (illegal) practice in the villages.
The third focus is on "Leaving Smiling Faces", which means they aim at positive contact building between local people and travellers.
