Kerme Ottoman Konak - Marmaris
Kerme Ottoman Konak in Akyaka is situated along the provincial road from Bodrum to Dalyan. It is surrounded in the north east by the wooded slopes of the Sakar Mountains, and in the south west by the shores of the Aegean Sea, in a beautiful natural and built-up area. Some call it Gökova, others Akyaka, a distinct settlement according to Turkish architectural standards.
Here you will not find shabby constructions without any taste for aesthetics or colours. Without the rigidity typical of the 1980s and 1990s projects in Bodrum and Karaincir, where only one type of building was accepted, Akyaka is one of the few exceptions to the rule that construction in Turkey needs an urgent reshift in concepts and practices.
