Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
- Ecological gardens provide about 80% of vegetables and other foodstuffs (like olives, honey and cheese) for breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes.
- Protection of environment: Clean septic sewer system, leaving no traces in the environment.
- Communal protecting of the wetlands south east of Akyaka by supervision and guarded tours.
- Use of natural products during construction work: Natural local stone and wood from the area, protected by natural paints and impregnation techniques, have been utilised in the construction of the property.
-There is minimal use of water in toilets and baths, and minimum use of towels.
- Local craftsmanship and labour have been used for construction activities and the operation of the hotel, thus generating local income.
