The tour begins with a transfer to Güvercin Vadisi (Pigeon Valley) followed by a short visit to the Small Animal Farm of Recep Bey. Then, walk through the orchards, forests and a small canyon to a very steep and strange shaped rock. The local people call this stony protrusion "Kizil Deri Kaya" or "Red Indian's Rock" due to its shape. We'll make a relaxed climb to the top where remnants of the old Dorian, Byzantine and Ottoman periods are left over. Here, we'll picnic in a great setting of majestic views of the surrounding mountain slopes, forests, and further away over the deep blue sea on both sides of the peninsula. On the western horizon we'll see the Dodecanese Islands, lying as a circle around the ancient port of Cnidos. After the picnic, we descend to the foot of the Red Indian Rock where our bus is waiting. If you want to walk some more we add an easy and relaxing walk over nice paths through pinewoods. Non-walkers are taken by bus to the finish point. Participants will have the opportunity to have contact with our local driver, local farmers and/or beekeepers.
